I only started to do so yesterday because we finished the construction of the house about a month ago and I took some breaks. Of course, the plans were in my head for a while and I knew what I was going to do.
I chose to make it small because as we're only there 2 days/week, I can't really take care of it a lot. This garden is also a test to see if everything is going to be eaten by insects or animals since we're in the middle of the forest, at 1h and a half from the city.
The perfect place was here:
I had planned to make two big rectangles linked with 30 degree angles but we noticed in the middle of the day that the bottom left part (top left on the pictures) would get too much shadow. After noticing that, we made this wood cage from pine wood we had remaining from the balcony after digging a little to make it fit the same everywhere:
Digging was a pain in the ass with all these rocks!
After a bunch of hours of digging and scrambling the dirt with the garden dirt we bought,
This is the final result.
| These veggies will have a nice view on the lake! |
I want to try with my tomatosphère tomatoes, some yellow beans, various salads, carrots, potatoes, sweet basil, oregano and mint. I will use the companion planting techniques to have as little weeds as possible.
What do you think about this garden?
